About The ROOTED Way
The ROOTED Way was born from lived experience — three paths of struggle, resilience, and renewal converging to help others rediscover balance, presence, and joy.
The ROOTED Way
We believe life is meant to be lived, not scrolled. ROOTED is a philosophy and a practice: presence over distraction, action over attention, joy over performance.
Our programs blend training, community, and transformational trips — guiding people and teams through the Six Pillars of Breath, Sleep, Food, Movement, Focus, and Joy. Each step is designed to break free from the content trap, spark embodied connection, and create lasting resilience.
ROOTED is more than a brand. It is a movement of people choosing to live differently — grounded, connected, and free.

Meet the Founders

Andrew Davies
From Breakdown to Balance
Andrew's story begins in the military, where years of striving and constant "all-gas" effort led to exhaustion, burnout, and eventually breakdown. Outwardly, he held it together with professional success and discipline. Inwardly, he struggled with depression, anxiety, and a deep sense of disconnection.
His turning point came after a deployment when his reserves were depleted and life demanded a change. Recovery began in the physical domain: running long distances, training hard, and fueling his body. But even there, imbalance crept in — more intensity, more striving, more burnout.
The lesson Andrew eventually learned was balance. Through mentors and new practices, he discovered that movement could be meditation, that breath could anchor his mind, and that less can sometimes be more.
Today, Andrew channels his lived experience into helping others break cycles of striving and ego-driven performance. He teaches balance, resilience, and rooted living — being anchored in who you truly are, moving with flow, and trusting the natural rhythms of growth.
Ashley Orser
From Misalignment to Flow
Ashley spent 15 years climbing the corporate ladder while navigating a deep sense of misalignment. On the surface, she had built the career and life she was "supposed" to have. Beneath it all, she felt exhaustion and frustration from performing a version of herself she had outgrown.
At 40, she made a bold decision: she left her job, moved abroad, and stepped into the unknown. What followed was not a loss, but a profound gain — a return to presence, clarity, and flow.
Her philosophy is simple: stop rushing, enjoy the little things, take care of your health and relationships, and don't waste your life performing a role that no longer fits.
Ashley brings that clarity and courage into ROOTED, helping others slow down, ask the deeper questions, and step into alignment. Her story is a reminder that joy comes not from control, but from trust and presence in the unfolding of life.

Zeger Schoenmaker
From Shaolin Monks to Modern Leadership
At 18, Zeger left home to train with Shaolin monks in China. Expecting cinematic shortcuts to mastery, he instead encountered discipline, repetition, and simplicity under Spartan conditions. That year shaped him into a modern warrior — grounded in presence, resilience, and the power of daily rituals.
When he returned, the world was the same, but he was not. He carried those lessons into full-contact sports and years of coaching, using movement as active meditation and a tool for mental clarity.
Today, Zeger specializes in working with high-performing leaders who spend much of their lives in their heads. His work helps them reconnect with their bodies, ground their energy, and sustain their leadership capacity.
At ROOTED, Zeger brings intensity and focus balanced with clarity and space. His invitation is simple: step away from constant demands and return to yourself. In a world that rarely slows down, ROOTED offers space to breathe, room to move, and time to come home.
